What this city does
Our own pizzeria
Lyon no longer orders from anyone else: the city opened its own pizzeria, a place set up for one thing only — keeping Melaveh Malka. Its own cook, its own drivers, and more than a hundred people working there, all of them volunteers.
Hanukkah
Gifts chosen for each child’s age, delivered to their door, and doughnuts with them.
The Pesach and Shavuot parcels
A parcel for each festival, and shopping vouchers with it: over €20,000 handed out, so each family does its own shopping, with dignity.
Over €80,000 for funerals
Fundraisers launched for families who could not afford to bury their own. Over €80,000 raised, so that everyone is laid to rest with dignity.
Everyday essentials
Shampoo, shower gel, micellar water. The first things to run out, and the last things anyone asks for.
Books of Torah
Handed over each time, along with everything else.
Shabbat, ready to serve
